My Grace & Grit
Privacy Policy
Effective July 26, 2026
This is your space, and you deserve to know exactly what happens to what you share here. Below is a plain-language description of the information the app holds, who can see it, and how to remove it.
Who we are
My Grace & Grit ("we," "us," or "the app") is a wellness companion app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.
If you have a question about this policy or your information, email support@mygraceandgritapp.com.
Three kinds of information
The most important thing to understand is that not everything in the app is treated the same way. There are three distinct categories:
1. Private to your account. Everything you log for yourself — food and nutrition entries, water, journal entries, weight and progress, calorie and macro targets, medications and medication logs, workouts and movement, invisible wins, your onboarding answers, your food and progress photos, and your conversations with Grace. Other members cannot see any of it.
2. Visible to other Community members. Only what you deliberately choose to post in Community: your display name and emoji, your post and comment text, images you attach to a Community post, and your reactions. Assume anything posted in Community can be seen by every signed-in member.
3. Processed by service providers to operate the app. Certain providers handle information on our behalf so features can work — infrastructure and database hosting, the AI model behind Grace, and food databases used for search. This is not the same as selling your information or sharing it with advertisers, which we do not do.
Information you provide
Account and profile. A display name, an optional emoji, and an avatar you choose.
Onboarding and profile details. Your first name, age, gender, height, weight, goal weight, activity level, goal type, and the supportive context you choose to share about your story, so the app can estimate your energy needs and personalize encouragement.
Wellness information. Food and nutrition logs, water intake, journal entries, weight and progress entries, goals and calorie/macro targets, medications (including name, dose, schedule, injection site, and dose history), invisible wins, "showed up" streaks, workouts, routines, custom exercises, personal records, and movement entries.
Photos. Food photos, progress photos, and any images you attach to a Community post.
Community content. Posts, comments, reactions, blocks, and reports you submit.
Grace conversations. The messages you send to Grace, the conversation threads they belong to, and the details Grace saves as memories so it can stay in context with you.
Support messages. Anything you send us by email.
Sign in with Apple
Signing in is handled through Sign in with Apple. That process provides us with an account identifier, and — depending on your Apple settings and what Apple chooses to provide — it may also provide an email address, which may be an Apple private relay address. We do not ask you for a password, and we do not receive your Apple ID credentials.
Technical information
My Grace & Grit does not operate its own analytics, advertising, or tracking system, and we do not use tracking cookies or advertising SDKs. The hosting infrastructure that runs the app may process standard technical information — such as IP address, browser and device information, and request information — as necessary to operate, secure, and deliver the service.
How your information is used
To provide the app's features: saving your logs, estimating nutrition targets, tracking movement and medications, showing your progress, and keeping everything in sync across your devices.
To power Grace, so it can respond to you with context from your conversation.
To run Community, including safety screening and moderation of posted content and handling reports.
To respond to your support requests.
To keep the service secure, reliable, and working as intended.
Grace and AI
When you send Grace a message, your message, recent conversation history, the memories Grace has saved, and your first name are sent to Google's Gemini model through the Lovable AI Gateway in order to generate a response. Your threads, messages, and memories are stored in your account.
Images you attach to a Community post are also sent to that model for automated safety screening before the post is published.
Grace is not a medical professional and does not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
Community and visibility
Community is visible to other signed-in members. Your display name, emoji, and avatar are attached to your posts and comments. Anything you post, including photos, can be seen by other members, so please don't share personal, medical, or identifying information you'd prefer to keep private.
Reports you submit, the moderation queue, moderation actions, sanctions, and administrative audit records are visible only to administrators — not to other members.
Photos and how they are stored
Food and progress photos are stored in a private location scoped to your account, and Community images are stored in a separate private location. In both cases images are not publicly browsable — they are served through short-lived links generated for the people permitted to view them.
Where your information is stored
Some information is saved on your device and mirrored to your account so it is available across your devices; other information is stored directly in your account. Our infrastructure provider is Lovable Cloud, which supplies the hosting, database, authentication, and file storage behind the app.
Service providers
Lovable Cloud — infrastructure, database, authentication, and file storage.
Lovable AI Gateway and Google Gemini — generating Grace's responses and screening Community images for safety.
USDA FoodData Central — food and nutrition search results, requested by our servers.
Open Food Facts — barcode lookups. When you scan a product, the barcode number is sent from your device to look up that product.
These providers process information to make the app work. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Apple Health and Health Connect
The app does not currently read from Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect automatically. Activity information appears in the app only when you enter or import it yourself.
How long we keep information
We generally keep your information for as long as your account exists, unless a longer period is required for legitimate legal, security, or operational reasons. You can delete individual entries at any time, and you can delete your entire account.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account from the bottom of your Profile page. Deletion is not a deactivation — it removes your stored photos and images, your Community posts, comments, reactions, and blocks, your moderation-related records, and all of the wellness information saved under your account, and then deletes the account itself.
This cannot be undone.
Your choices
You decide what to log, what to tell Grace, and what — if anything — to post in Community.
You can edit or delete your entries, block other members, report content, and delete your account at any time.
For any other request about your information, email support@mygraceandgritapp.com.
Children
My Grace & Grit is intended for adults age 18 and older. The service is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be reflected here, so it's worth checking back occasionally.
